A practical first shortlist for heavy luggage: the hotel sits beside the station and AK& shopping complex. Complimentary Express Start breakfast simplifies early mornings. Check bed configuration and usable floor space; a convenient station connection does not make a compact room larger.
L7 Hongdae by LOTTE
Consider it for a stay close to Hongdae’s restaurants and nightlife. If the rooftop pool is the reason to pay more, confirm dates, age eligibility, fees and reservation conditions on your actual package. A pool photograph does not establish access.
Mercure Ambassador Seoul Hongdae
Near Exit 9, useful for central shopping and evening plans. Include the indoor walk from AREX when comparing access. Accor lists laundry services; check whether the service is self-service or charged hotel laundry. These solve different packing problems.
RYSE, Autograph Collection
A design-focused Marriott property for travelers who value the hotel’s creative interiors as part of the stay. It is walkable from the station but not directly connected to AREX. Compare its room and total price with the station-side option before paying for the design appeal.
Amanti Hotel Seoul
Around 500 meters from Exit 1, away from the central shopping core. The trade-off is more outdoor walking with bags. The tourism listing describes a seasonal pool and fitness facilities; confirm availability. This position does not guarantee a quiet room.
Choose between two finalists
Use identical dates, guest count and cancellation flexibility. Compare the final price including breakfast and paid facilities. For sleep, look at room orientation and recent room-specific comments; requests and higher floors do not guarantee quiet.
For an early flight, work backward from your required airport arrival time and check the first usable service. Being beside AREX helps only when the timetable fits. Save your room description and cancellation deadline after booking.
