Where to Stay in Seoul: Best Neighborhoods for Every Travel Style (2026 Guide)
KSPOTZ VISUAL GUIDE · Updated 5 October 2026
Choose your Seoul base around the places you will return from each night. A famous neighborhood name matters less than three routes that work for your itinerary.
Use these details to break a tie
Myeongdong: Line 4 access and shopping-street convenience can mean different hotel locations. Pedestrian restrictions can affect suitcase drop-offs. Compare five Myeongdong hotels.
Hongdae: All-Stop serves Hongik University; Express does not. Dinner and nightlife nearby can save late journeys, but inspect the exact street and room orientation. Compare Hongdae hotels.
Jongno / Insadong: Anguk, Jonggak and Jongno 3-ga give different routes. For a traditional property, inspect bedding, bathroom arrangements and luggage access before booking for atmosphere.
Gangnam: Gangnam Station, COEX and Sinsa are different starting points. Map your actual appointments; a palace-heavy itinerary can otherwise create repeated cross-city journeys.
Seongsu: an enjoyable afternoon destination is not automatically the best morning-and-night base. Check food and convenience stores at your likely hours.
Dongdaemun: Dongdaemun Station and Dongdaemun History & Culture Park Station are not interchangeable. Check the hotel entrance against the station you will use.
Compare two finalists on identical dates and guest count. Look at the room’s floor area, beds, cancellation flexibility and elevator route—not only the district name.
